Matthew M. Cohen
Matthew M. Cohen, CPA, is a principal in the small business group at Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C. With over 30 years of experience in accounting, tax and consulting, Matt enables his clients to minimize tax liabilities and strategically plan for the future by devising and implementing tax and financial strategies. He has extensive experience working with corporations, partnerships, individuals and start-up businesses.
Prior to joining Gettry Marcus, Mr. Cohen was a member of the Business Advisory Group at Katz, Sapper & Miller, in New York. In his role in the firm, he advised clients in a wide variety of industries including not-for-profit, mortgage bankers, distributors, retirement plan audits, hospitality, arts and culture, and small business start-ups.
Mr. Cohen is a graduate of Brooklyn College with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. He is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and The Resource Group of New York City. Matt also serves as chairman of Powering Potential, a not-for-profit organization whose mission is to “use technology to enhance education and stimulate the imagination of students in underdeveloped countries.”
