Howard Fine Named ‘Around 50’ Award Winner

Gettry Marcus CPA, P.C., announced today that Howard Fine received Long Island Business News’ 2013 “Around 50 Award.” The award recognizes and honors individuals for their leadership in business, support of professional and not-for-profit organizations and a commitment to the needs of the local community. Mr. Fine will be inducted into the Class of 2013 at an awards celebration to be held on Thursday evening, September 19, 2013 at the Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury, New York.

In his role at the Firm, Mr. Fine is the Partner-in-Charge of Gettry Marcus’ Accounting & Auditing Group and its Employee Benefit Plan Audit Group. He also chairs the firm’s Employee Relations Committee.

A resident of Dix Hills, Mr. Fine is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and National Association of Certified Valuators and Analysts. He is past Chairman of the Litigation Support Services Committee Nassau Chapter and the Cooperation with Bankers and other Credit Grantors Committee Suffolk Chapter of the New York Society of Certified Public Accountants (NYSSCPA). Mr. Fine is actively involved in the NYSSCPA; in 2007, he was elected to and continues to serve on the Executive Board of the Nassau County Chapter and he also co-chairs the Sponsorship Committee which is instrumental in raising funds to support CPE programs and college scholarships. Additionally, he is an associate member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.

Mr. Fine donates his time to his profession and community through his participation in various organizations. He regularly lectures on financial literacy and economic empowerment issues and is on the Committee of the Capital One Investing for Good Long Island Community Initiative: Financial Literacy Challenge.
