Partner Howard Fine Serves On Capital Ones Bank’s Financial Literacy Challenge Local Selection Comittee

On May 2nd, 2013 Capital One Bank held its first Long Island Financial Literacy Challenge, an awards program intended to encourage money management best practices among children and adults throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties. 25 organizations were selected through a competitive application process to participate; each was awarded $5,000 to implement their respective financial education programs between September 2012 and May 2013. The awards culminated in two of the 25 grantees receiving a $15,000 contribution for demonstrating the greatest impact on the respective populations. Getty Marcus Partner Howard Fine served on the Financial Literacy Challenge’s Local Selection Committee that was responsible for determining the 25 local participants and also was given the honor of presenting the Outstanding Volunteer Award at the event.
