Nicholas Backmann, CPA, is a manager in the firm’s Business Valuation and Litigation Services Group, one of the largest in the New York metropolitan area with many credentialed business valuation professionals and a team of forensic accountants.
As a member of the group, Mr. Backmann has been engaged by attorneys, businesses, insurance companies, and individuals to perform services in complex litigation settings. Nicholas provides financial analysis, forensic accounting services, and valuation services for fraud investigations, marital dissolutions, estate and gift planning, shareholder disputes, and other types of litigation cases. He assists attorneys in drafting deposition and trial questions for cross-examination of opposing witnesses and also assists in the drafting of expert reports and affidavits to be used in court.
Nicholas received his B.S./MBA in Accounting from LIU Post. He is a current member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners. Mr. Backmann is actively involved with his alma mater and has been a frequent LIU Post panel speaker on topics such as business valuation and forensic accounting services.
