Rochelle B. Zarett
Rochelle B. Zarett, CPA, MBA, a senior tax manager with over 30 years of public and private accounting experience, is a member of the firm’s Tax Department.
Ms. Zarett manages all aspects of trust, estate and gift tax return processing from client meetings to filing of returns. She consults regularly with attorneys, partners and clients regarding these returns and related issues. Ms. Zarett oversees the preparation of judicial accountings, which are used in various contexts, such as estate administration, guardianships, and divorce and partnership dissolutions. She is also involved in the preparation and review of high net worth individual tax returns.
Ms. Zarett is a 1982 graduate of the University of Rochester, where she received a BA in economics/business. Ms. Zarett is also a 1984 graduate, and valedictorian of Hofstra University’s Frank G. Zarb School of Business, where she earned a MBA. Prior to joining Gettry Marcus in 2010, she was self-employed, where she managed a practice specializing in small businesses and not-for-profit organizations. Ms. Zarett’s article, “Roadmap to Developing a Budget for College: A Guide for Parents and Students,” was recently published in The Hauppauge Reporter. She regularly conducts in-house trust & estate training courses to fellow Gettry Marcus employees. Ms. Zarett is a member of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Nassau Chapter and the Estate Planning Council of Nassau County.
